YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Although the world is a big place and it’s easy to feel small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things you need to remember that every single contribution you make does count.
The Starfish Story reminds us that every positive action is meaningful and that each of us can make a difference.

One day a man was walking along the beach and he saw thousands and thousands of starfish washed up on the shore. In the distance he could see a little girl picking up a starfish and throwing it back into the sea. He watched her do this over and over again and when he came near to her he said, ‘You are wasting your time, there are too many to throw back. What difference do you think you are making, they are all going to die.’ And the little girl just picked up another starfish and as she tossed it into the sea she said, ‘It makes a difference to that one.’

Think about the significant people in your life: your friends, family, work colleagues, loved ones…… Reflect upon each of your relationships and consider what difference you make to that person’s life. What do you give that is of value? Who do you help and encourage? What practical assistance do you give others? Do you offer emotional support? Are you a good friend? Are you a good listener? Who loves you and would miss you?

Over the next few days start to notice where you are making a difference. Next time you cheer up a work colleague, you have made a difference. When you praise a child you make a difference. When you strike up a conversation with a stranger you are making a difference.
Every kind thought, feeling and action has repercussions. Whenever you send out a positive well-meaning vibration its ripples extend far and wide. Never ever believe that you are too inconsequential to count.
People who make an impact know that their energy affects others at the most profound level and so they are purposeful and confident in all their relationships. Step out there and be noticed for your charisma, your positivity and your kindness.
